After enjoying a presentation of Aunt Helen's Closet A Museum Approach To Education®, a variety of workshops are available to enrich and enhance the learning experience.Â
During Workshops:
Lessons are experienced in a classroom setting.
Children will explore, investigate, and examine the collection using the hands-on learning approach, which is adaptable for students of all ages and abilities.
Elements of language arts, science, math and social sciences are integrated through a motivating discussion and a multicultural display of the life of a unique woman.
Each lesson has a fiction and nonfiction piece of literature to complement and enhance the children's experience.
Students respond with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Motivates and build both language and literacy.Â
Each lesson culminates with a meaningful and enjoyable learning activity.
To make the experience more meaningful, the resource book provides thought-provoking suggested pre/post-performance activities. These suggestions bridge the gap across all curriculum and grade levels. Teachers may also connect their own classroom strategies.
