After enjoying a presentation of Aunt Helen's Closet A Museum Approach To Education®, a variety of workshops are available to enrich and enhance the learning experience.

During Workshops:
  • Lessons are experienced in a classroom setting.
  • Children will explore, investigate, and examine the collection using the hands-on learning approach, which is adaptable for students of all ages and abilities.
  • Elements of language arts, science, math and social sciences are integrated through a motivating discussion and a multicultural display of the life of a unique woman.
  • Each lesson has a fiction and nonfiction piece of literature to complement and enhance the children's experience.
  • Students respond with curiosity and enthusiasm.
  • Motivates and build both language and literacy.
  • Each lesson culminates with a meaningful and enjoyable learning activity.

To make the experience more meaningful, the resource book provides thought-provoking suggested pre/post-performance activities.  These suggestions bridge the gap across all curriculum and grade levels.  Teachers may also connect their own classroom strategies.
